Jasa Raharja pays Rp3.02 billion to KMP Virgo 8 victims' heirs

PT Jasa Raharja and Jasa Raharja Putera have distributed a total of Rp3.028 billion in compensation to the heirs of victims of the KMP Virgo Transport 8 shipwreck. To date, payments have been made to 46 individuals, consisting of Rp2.162 billion from Jasa Raharja and Rp866 million from Jasa Raharja Putera.

Each identified deceased victim's heir receives a total of Rp70 million, split into Rp50 million from Jasa Raharja and Rp20 million from Jasa Raharja Putera. In cases where no heirs are present, the companies provide burial assistance totaling Rp6 million.

According to Basarnas data, of the 243 passengers and crew on the vessel, 186 people have been evacuated, including 108 survivors and 78 fatalities. Fifty-seven individuals remain missing. Authorities are working with the DVI team from Polda Kalimantan Selatan to identify the remaining victims to ensure timely processing of compensation.
