Jasenaš commemorates 35th anniversary of liberation during Homeland War

The 35th anniversary of the liberation of the Jasenaš settlement near Virovitica during the Homeland War was commemorated with ceremonies in Milanovac and Jasenaš.

The events included laying wreaths and lighting lanterns at a memorial for fallen Croatian defenders in Milanovac, followed by a Holy Mass at the Parish Church of Blessed Aloysius Stepinac. Additionally, the UDVDR RH – Klub SOKOL Milanovac held an assembly to present and unanimously adopt work and financial reports, as well as future plans.

Local and national officials attended the commemorations, including Virovitica Mayor Ivica Kirin, Virovitica-Podravina County Deputy Prefect Marijo Klement, and representatives from the Ministry of Croatian Veterans. The ceremonies honored the historical significance of the September 1991 liberation of the area.
