Jasmine Crockett to focus on Texas down-ballot Democratic candidates

U.S. Representative Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) has announced her intention to focus her political efforts on down-ballot Democratic candidates in Texas rather than the high-profile Senate race. Following her loss in the Democratic Senate primary to James Talarico, Crockett has reiterated that she will not be campaigning alongside Talarico.

Crockett plans to endorse and support several candidates, including an estimated four for the Texas House and three for county judge positions. She noted that these candidates are located in large counties where Democrats must maintain a strong turnout. To facilitate this support, Crockett established the Fueling Individual Rights Everywhere (FIRE) PAC, which she has used to travel and support endorsed nominees.

Crockett emphasized that relying on a single top-of-the-ticket candidate is insufficient for success in Texas, citing previous unsuccessful campaigns. She stated her goal is to amplify the profiles of local candidates to provide voters with more reasons to participate in the election.
