Luisa Stefani and Gabriela Dabrowski advance in WTA Wuhan

The Brazilian-Canadian doubles partnership of Luisa Stefani and Gabriela Dabrowski has advanced to the quarterfinals of the WTA 1000 in Wuhan. As the tournament's top seeds, they defeated Quinn Gleason of the United States and Ulrike Eikeri of Norway in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3.

Stefani noted that the playing conditions in Wuhan, characterized by higher humidity and a heavier, slower ball, required tactical adjustments compared to their recent victory at the WTA 1000 in Beijing. The duo, currently ranked as the second-best doubles team of the season, has the opportunity to reach the world number one ranking if they secure the title in Wuhan.

Their next match is scheduled against the team of Giuliana Olmos and Ingrid Neel. Having already qualified for the WTA Finals in Indian Wells, the pair continues to build momentum following several recent titles, including wins in Dubai, Strasbourg, Eastbourne, and the SP Open.
