Jasna Góra reports increase in 2026 pilgrimage numbers

The Jasna Góra monastery reported a significant increase in pilgrims during the 2026 season. Between mid-April and mid-September, 117,370 people arrived at the sanctuary via various methods, including walking, cycling, running, rollerblading, and horseback riding. This figure represents an increase of over 9,000 participants compared to the previous year.

Walking pilgrims comprised the largest group with 105,538 individuals across 276 groups. Other participants included 11,434 cyclists, 398 runners, 124 rollerbladers, and a 14-person horseback group from Zarąb Kościelne. Notable large-scale events included the Radom Walking Pilgrimage with 8,705 people and the Tarnów Pilgrimage with 7,200.

The pilgrimage season saw international participation, with attendees from 13 European countries and five non-European nations joining the Krakow pilgrimage. Other international groups included participants from Hungary, Estonia, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Belgium.
