Jason Statham's 'The Meg' scheduled for HBO Max debut on July 1, 2026

Warner Bros. Discovery announced that the 2018 action film "The Meg", starring Jason Statham as Jonas Taylor, will become available on HBO Max starting July 1 2026.

The film, directed by Jon Turteltaub and based on Steve Alten’s novel, was produced on a budget of $130‑$178 million and earned roughly $529 million worldwide. It received mixed reception, scoring 47 % on Rotten Tomatoes and 44 % on Popcornmeter. A sequel, "Meg 2: The Trench", was released in 2023.
