In July 2026, Warner Bros. Discovery began a streaming rollout for the 2018 action-thriller *The Meg*, placing it on HBO Max on 1 July. Amazon followed with the film on 15 July, expanding the actor's presence on the platform alongside the 17 July premiere of the 2026 thriller *Mission: Refuge* (also released as *Shelter* or *Missão Refúgio*).

Directed by Ric Roman Waugh, *Shelter* follows Michael Mason, a former MI6 and Royal Marines operative living in isolation on a remote Scottish island. After rescuing a young girl named Jessie during a storm, Mason is forced to confront enemies from his past. The film, which had a modest theatrical run earning approximately US$54.5 million, quickly reached Prime Video's most-watched list. Critics have praised the film's practical fight choreography, relentless action, and the emotional bond between the leads, despite a slower, character-driven opening.

Following the global rollout, Prime Video confirmed on 20 July that *Shelter: The Protector* would launch in Spain via the MGM+ service, accessible through standalone subscriptions or as a Prime add-on. While the release reached Spain, other Spanish-language markets had not yet received it at that time.
