Jaume Plensa endorses Granada’s 2031 European Capital of Culture bid

Renowned Spanish sculptor Jaume Plensa has officially endorsed Granada’s bid to become a European Capital of Culture in 2031. This endorsement adds significant international prestige to the project, which aims to position the city as a contemporary cultural and creative hub in Europe.

Granada’s mayor, Marifrán Carazo, expressed pride in Plensa’s support, noting that his international recognition and his artistic approach—which focuses on the human figure, light, and the relationship between art and public space—align with the spirit of the candidacy.
