Javed Miandad defends Imran Khan's integrity during imprisonment

Former Pakistani cricketer Javed Miandad has publicly defended imprisoned former Prime Minister Imran Khan, describing him as an honest man. Miandad, who shared a historic 1992 World Cup winning partnership with Khan, expressed emotional support for the former leader during a recent interview.

Khan has been held in Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi since his re-arrest in August 2023, facing over 180 legal cases, including the Toshakhana case involving the alleged misuse of state gifts. While Khan maintains that the corruption allegations are politically motivated, Miandad argued that Khan’s character would not allow for corrupt practices.

Concerns regarding Khan’s health have intensified, with reports of significant vision loss in one eye attributed to delayed medical care. International cricket figures, including Sunil Gavaskar and Kapil Dev, have also joined calls for Khan to receive proper medical treatment.
