Javier Milei approves financial regime for Armed Forces Social Work

President Javier Milei has approved the administrative, patrimonial, accounting, and control regime for the Obra Social de las Fuerzas Armadas (OSFA). Through Decree 986/2026, published in the Official Gazette, the government has established an 8% employer contribution rate applied to the earnings of active military personnel, civil personnel serving in the Armed Forces, and civil staff of the OSFA itself.

The OSFA was established as an autonomous entity under the Ministry of Defense via Decree 88/2026. This move follows the transformation of the Obra Social de las Fuerzas de Seguridad and the separation of health coverage for Defense and Security personnel. The Ministry of Defense is authorized to issue the necessary complementary and operational regulations to implement this new regime.
