Javier Milei defends economic course and suspends UK trip

Argentine President Javier Milei issued a message titled ‘Voluntad de hierro’ (Iron Will) via social media following the release of August inflation data. Using a metaphor involving a goalkeeper, Milei emphasized the need for resilience and precision in leadership, stating that a goalkeeper must have ‘a will of iron to continue fighting with tooth and nail to defend their own.’

He called for public confidence in his administration’s direction, asserting that his government will not yield to attacks or setbacks. The message concluded with his signature slogan, ‘Viva la libertad, carajo.’

Additionally, the Casa Rosada has suspended Milei’s planned trip to London, originally scheduled for mid-October. The decision comes amid escalating diplomatic tensions with the United Kingdom regarding the Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas).
