Javier Milei hit with polarizing critique; opposition pushes centrist alternative

Former UCR leader and ex‑senator Ernesto Sanz said the government of Javier Milei creates “polarization” and runs a “political system already exhausted and yielding poor results”. He urged the UCR, PRO and Coalición Cívica to revive the cooperation that formed Cambiemos in 2015 and called for a “center‑right, progressive, republican, developmental model” for Argentina. Sanz criticised Milei’s proposal to eliminate the PASO primaries, citing “the growing social dissatisfaction, corruption perception and internal conflict of the government” and referenced the ongoing investigation into cabinet chief Manuel Adorni’s alleged illicit enrichment.

A separate analysis highlighted that a portion of Milei’s 2023 electorate comes from a left‑libertarian current that supports a free market while opposing large corporations and state‑driven capitalism. The piece noted Mauricio Macri’s comment that “Milei is not liberal, he is anarchist” and described this ideological blend as “spiritual anarchism” that mixes libertarian ideas from both right‑ and left‑wing traditions.
