Javier Milei prepares for key legislative week in Argentina

President Javier Milei is preparing for a high-stakes legislative week in Argentina. The agenda begins on Monday with a National Cabinet meeting, marking his first formal session with ministers since July 9. On Tuesday, Milei will meet with members of the La Libertad Avanza party in the Casa Rosada to coordinate parliamentary strategy ahead of key votes.

On Wednesday, the Chamber of Deputies is scheduled to debate two priority economic projects: the reform of the Central Bank's Organic Charter and the Inocencia Fiscal II project. The Central Bank reform seeks to mandate the preservation of currency value and prohibit the entity from financing the fiscal deficit through monetary emission. The Inocencia Fiscal II project aims to simplify tax regimes and encourage the formalization of foreign currency holdings.

In parallel, Chief of Staff Diego Santilli and Economy Minister Luis Caputo will sign an agreement with the Governor of Río Negro to transfer responsibility for certain national railways and roads to the province. Additionally, Milei is scheduled to deliver a speech regarding ethics and artificial intelligence at Colegio ORT on Thursday.
