AS Roma pauses Jayden Oosterwolde transfer for medical checks
AS Roma has temporarily suspended the transfer of Fenerbahçe defender Jayden Oosterwolde following his medical examinations in Italy. While an agreement was largely in place for a loan deal with an option to buy—estimated at approximately 15 to 18 million euros—the Italian club has requested additional specialist consultations to assess a recent muscle injury.
Oosterwolde, a 25-year-old Dutch defender capable of playing as a left-back or center-back, expressed sadness over his departure from Fenerbahçe, noting that the club decided to part ways despite his desire to stay for another year. The proposed contract with Roma is a 1+4 year deal.
If the medical concerns are resolved, the transfer is expected to proceed. Should the deal fail, Roma is reportedly considering alternatives, including Brazilian defender Morato from Nottingham Forest.
