Jazz festivals highlight musical diversity in France
The 48th edition of the Rhino Festival is underway, featuring a diverse jazz program that highlights musical influences from Africa, South America, and the Balkans. Artistic director Ludovic Chazalon noted that the festival will include 42 concerts across 36 partner venues, with notable performers such as Jamaican pianist Monty Alexander and Amaro Freitas.
In Nancy, the Nancy Jazz Pulsations (NJP) festival is also preparing for its upcoming edition. Artistic programmer Pierre Pauly emphasized the festival's commitment to musical diversity, noting its history of integrating jazz with genres like hip-hop, rock, blues, and even electronic and metal music. Pauly highlighted the economic impact of the event, stating that every euro invested in the festival generates between six and eight euros in economic returns.
