JCI Japan to launch nationwide environmental and community initiatives

Junior Chamber International (JCI) Japan is launching a series of regional and national initiatives in September 2026 focused on community sustainability and environmental awareness.

On September 3, 2026, JCI Japan will coordinate a nationwide carbon neutral action across 47 prefectures. Designated as ‘Carbon Neutral Day for Connecting to the Future,’ the event will center on tree planting and environmental education for children and local communities to encourage sustainable lifestyle changes at the household level.

Additionally, the Hyogo Block Council will host the 59th Block Convention, ‘GOKOKU CONNECT FESTA,’ on September 6, 2026, in Kakogawa City. The event aims to address regional challenges such as population decline through collaboration between industry, government, academia, and residents. The program includes a keynote speech by former Hanshin Tigers manager Akihiro Yano, forums on carbon neutrality, and a Guinness World Record attempt involving community members.
