Junior Chamber International sustainability initiatives

Overview

Junior Chamber International (JCI) has initiated various sustainability and community development programs across different regions.

In Suriname, JCI launched Sustainability Week 2026 under the theme “Building a Shared Future for All Life.” The initiative focuses on water security through collaboration between government, business, and local communities. Additionally, JCI partnered with the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries to provide sustainability training in Brokopondo, covering topics such as modern irrigation and hydroponics to address climate change and food security.

In Japan, JCI is preparing for nationwide environmental and community initiatives scheduled for September 2026. These include a carbon neutral action across 47 prefectures involving tree planting and environmental education. Furthermore, the Hyogo Block Council will host the 59th Block Convention in Kakogawa City to address regional issues like population decline through multi-sector collaboration.
