Jean Marie Tchakui joins Cameroon's MRC opposition party

Jean Marie Tchakui Noundie, the former prefect of Kupé-Manengouba, has officially joined the Movement for the Renaissance of Cameroon (MRC). Tchakui, who previously served as a high-ranking state official including roles as sub-prefect in Douala, announced his political engagement during a meeting in his native village of Batchieu.

Having retired in 2022, Tchakui stated that he is no longer bound by the duty of reserve and intends to use his experience to contribute to the opposition party led by Maurice Kamto. He noted that he has been active within the formation since 2023.
