Jeddah Tower hits 430 m, moving toward world‑tallest record

Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah Tower has reached a height of 430 metres, surpassing 40 % of its planned one‑kilometre stature. The milestone brings the super‑tall project closer to overtaking Dubai’s Burj Khalifa (828 m) as the world’s tallest building. Prince Alwaleed bin Talal visited the site and highlighted the steady progress after construction resumed in 2025 following a 2018 suspension caused by financial and contractor issues. The tower is the centerpiece of the 57‑million‑square‑foot Jeddah Economic City development, backed by Kingdom Holding Company and built by Jeddah Economic Company. International designers—including Adrian Smith & Gordon Gill Architecture, Thornton Tomasetti, and Saudi Binladin Group—are involved. Upon completion, the mixed‑use skyscraper will host residential units, a luxury hotel, office space and a record‑high observation deck, aiming to become the first building to exceed the one‑kilometre mark.
