Jeddah Tower construction milestones

Construction of the Jeddah Tower in Saudi Arabia continued to advance in late July 2026. On 26 July the structure rose above 420 m, adding six floors to bring the total to 106 of the planned 160. The project, launched in 2013 and halted after a 2018 suspension, resumed work in 2024‑2025 using advanced concrete‑pumping, prefabrication and high‑rise façade technologies. By 29 July the tower reached 430 m, roughly 40 % of its intended one‑kilometre height and narrowing the gap to Dubai’s 828‑m Burj Khalifa. Prince Alwaleed bin Talal visited the site and highlighted the steady progress. The tower remains the centerpiece of the 57‑million‑square‑foot Jeddah Economic City development, involving international designers and Saudi firms such as Kingdom Holding and Saudi Binladin Group. Completion is still targeted for 2028, when the mixed‑use skyscraper will host residential units, a luxury hotel, office space and a record‑high observation deck, aiming to become the world’s first building to exceed one kilometre in height.
