Jeddah Tower reaches 430 m as construction pushes toward 1‑km milestone

Construction on the Jeddah Tower in Saudi Arabia has progressed to 430 metres (1,410 ft) and 107 completed floors, bringing the project closer to its planned one‑kilometre height. The tower, also known as the JEC Tower, resumed work in January 2025 after a seven‑year pause, backed by a new contract worth over US$2 billion that has restored a workforce of roughly 5,200 people on site.

The central core is rising at about one storey (four metres) per week, with an estimated 570 metres still to be built before the structure surpasses the one‑kilometre mark. Designed by Adrian Smith and Gordon Gill, the skyscraper will eventually contain at least 157 floors, 5.7 million square feet of space, offices, a 200‑room luxury hotel, service apartments, residences, sky lobbies, observation decks and a helicopter pad, served by 59 elevators. Completion is targeted for 2028.
