Jeep Compass 2027 to debut in Brazil with 48‑V mild‑hybrid system

Jeep plans to launch the 2027 Compass in Brazil within weeks, offering a mild‑hybrid (MHEV) powertrain that adds a 48‑volt electric motor to the existing 1.3‑litre turbo‑flex engine. The hybrid setup, also used on the Renegade and Commander, provides an extra 15.5 hp and 6.6 kg·m of torque and is offered in the Sport, Longitude and Série S trims.

The 1.3 turbo‑flex engine is detuned to 176 hp to meet Proconve L8 emission rules, and the electric assist is intended to smooth accelerator response and cut fuel use. Based on Renegade data, the system could lower urban fuel consumption by up to 7 % and CO₂ emissions by about 8 %. Official consumption figures for the Compass have not been released, but projected highway numbers are roughly 12.8 km/l (gasoline) and 9.2 km/l (ethanol). The model’s exterior design remains unchanged, and the top‑of‑the‑range BlackHawk version retains its 2.0‑litre turbo‑flex engine, all‑wheel drive and nine‑speed automatic transmission.
