Overview

Following the July 2026 rollout, Jeep continued to broaden the Compass range across Europe and South America. A third-generation Compass, built at the Melfi plant in Italy on the STLA Medium platform, was launched in Europe. While the entry-level European Compass is positioned as a premium option compared to lower-priced competitors like the Omoda 5, Stellantis is also planning a South American Compass for 2028. To manage costs, this model will use the FCA Small Wide architecture rather than the STLA Medium platform. It is expected to feature an evolution of the 1.3 L turbo-flex engine with a 48V mild-hybrid system and potentially an extended-range option incorporating Leapmotor technology, with production slated for the Goiana Assembly Complex. The third-generation model features increased dimensions, measuring approximately 15 cm longer, 5 cm wider, and nearly 8 cm taller than its predecessor, with a 2.8 m wheelbase. Design updates include a more aerodynamic grille, a new lighting signature with an illuminated ‘Jeep’ logo, and a modernized interior with digital controls. For off-road performance, the all-electric Compass 4xe utilizes dual motors producing 375 PS and a specialized rear motor with a 14:1 reduction gear to deliver 3,100 Nm of torque.
