Jeep Compass enters third generation with hybrid powertrain
The third generation of the Jeep Compass has been introduced, featuring a design that emphasizes an off-road aesthetic despite a shift in mechanical capabilities. Unlike previous generations that offered four-wheel drive and diesel engines, the new model is front-wheel drive only, powered by a 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine paired with a 48V hybrid system.
The vehicle is built on a platform shared with models from Peugeot, Citroën, and Opel to reduce costs. While it lacks true off-road performance, it includes specialized driving modes such as 'snow' and 'sand/mud' to adjust ESP and gear shifting, alongside interior materials designed for durability and easy cleaning.
