Jeep Compass 2027 introduces 48V mild-hybrid technology

Jeep has unveiled the 2027 Compass lineup, featuring the introduction of a 48-volt mild-hybrid (MHEV) system. This new powertrain will be available on the Longitude Night Eagle and Series S versions, utilizing a 1.3-liter TurboFlex engine. The MHEV technology is designed to assist the combustion engine during acceleration and deceleration, with the manufacturer claiming it can reduce fuel consumption by up to 11%.

The 2027 model also includes several aesthetic and interior updates. New wheel options include 18-inch sets for Sport and Longitude trims, and 19-inch sets for the Night Eagle, Series S, and Blackhawk versions. A new exterior color, Slash Gold, has been added to the palette. Inside, all versions now come with premium upholstery as standard, while the Series S and Blackhawk trims feature extended suede finishes on the dashboard and doors.

High-performance variants remain unchanged, with the Compass Blackhawk retaining its 2.0-liter Hurricane turboflex engine producing 272 hp and 4x4 traction. The mild-hybrid versions will utilize front-wheel drive to prioritize efficiency and emission reductions.
