Jeep rolls out high‑power electric SUVs in Europe and North America

Jeep has opened European orders for the new Compass 4xe, an all‑electric, all‑wheel‑drive SUV built on Stellantis' STLA Medium platform in Italy. The model delivers 375 hp from two independent motors, a WLTP‑rated range of more than 600 km, and a 96 kWh usable battery that can charge from 20 % to 80 % in about 27 minutes. A front‑wheel‑drive long‑range version with a 674 km WLTP range is also available, but both variants are currently limited to European markets.

In North America, Jeep began selling the 2026 Recon EV, priced at $66,995 (CAD 88,285 in Canada). Built on the STLA Large platform, the Recon uses a dual‑motor setup that produces 650 hp and 620 lb‑ft of torque, achieving an EPA‑estimated 222‑mile range and 0‑60 mph in roughly 3.6 seconds. It features off‑road‑focused hardware such as 33‑inch tires, 9.1 inches of ground clearance, removable doors, and a seven‑slot grille, plus five selectable drive modes. Charging from 5 % to 80 % takes about 28 minutes.
