Jeep unveils hybrid Cherokee Trailhawk with enhanced 4x4 capabilities

Jeep has introduced the 2027 Cherokee Trailhawk, a hybrid off-road model that utilizes Stellantis’s global EMP2 platform. This model marks a significant technical milestone for the group, as engineering has successfully integrated a traditional 4x4 drivetrain—including a driveshaft for rear power transfer—into a platform previously limited to front-wheel-drive configurations.

The Trailhawk features a 1.6-liter turbo hybrid powertrain combined with two electric motors, producing a total of 210 hp. It utilizes the Jeep Active Drive II system, which includes a two-speed transfer case for low-range driving and a locking rear differential. To protect vital components like the battery and fuel tank, the vehicle comes standard with steel skid plates.

Off-road capabilities include a 22.9 cm ground clearance, a 61 cm water wading limit, and various driving modes such as Rock, Sand/Mud, and Snow. In the United States, orders for the model have opened with a starting price of $44,625.
