Liverpool FC sells minority stake to Jeff Bezos-backed consortium FAST-MOVING

Fenway Sports Group (FSG) has reached a definitive agreement to sell a minority stake in Liverpool FC to 1892 Holdings, a consortium led by Amit Bhatia. The investment group includes high-profile figures such as Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin, and the Mittal Family Trusts.

The transaction involves approximately 30 percent of the club and is estimated to be worth between £1.5 billion and £1.65 billion, valuing Liverpool at roughly £5 billion to £6 billion. While the deal brings significant financial backing and expertise in technology and global business, FSG will retain majority ownership and full operational control of the club.

As part of the agreement, Amit Bhatia is set to become the new Vice Chairman of Liverpool FC and join the expanded board of directors. Other members joining the board include Bryan Baum of K5 Sports and Elaine Saverin. Jeff Bezos will participate as an investor through K5 Sports but will not hold a seat on the club's board.
