Liverpool FC nears minority investment deal involving Jeff Bezos

A consortium of high-profile investors is in advanced negotiations to acquire a minority stake in Liverpool FC. The investment group is reportedly led by businessman Amit Bhatia and includes Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin.

The deal, which could involve purchasing approximately 30% to 33% of the club's shares, is being negotiated with the current majority owner, Fenway Sports Group (FSG). The transaction is estimated to be worth roughly £1.35 billion, which would value Liverpool at approximately £4.4 billion to £4.5 billion.

Despite the significant influx of capital, FSG is expected to remain the controlling shareholder. While some supporters have expressed caution due to past ownership experiences, others anticipate the investment will provide the financial strength necessary for future player transfers and squad development.
