Jeff Hiller promoted to series regular for ‘Widow’s Bay’ season two

Comedian Jeff Hiller has been promoted to a series regular for the second season of the Apple TV horror-comedy ‘Widow’s Bay’. Hiller, who previously appeared as Dale, a Town Hall staffer, will expand his role in the Emmy-nominated series set on a haunted Massachusetts island.

Hiller’s casting is rooted in a long-standing connection with series creator Katie Dippold, with whom he shared an improv troupe approximately 25 years ago. Hiller noted that his character was originally scripted to die in the first season finale, but Dippold revised the script to keep the character alive.

The series has received 19 Emmy nominations. Hiller himself is an Emmy winner for ‘Somebody, Somewhere’ and holds a current nomination for his guest role in the Apple TV drama ‘Pluribus’.
