Jember Fashion Carnaval 2026 launches 'HEAL' theme and theatrical format

The regency of Jember in East Java is preparing a slate of national and international events for July‑August 2026, with the Jember Fashion Carnaval (JFC) as the flagship. JFC will run from 24 to 26 July 2026 and this year’s theme is “HEAL” (Humanity, Earth, and Life). Organisers introduced a new hour‑long theatrical drama called “Dewi Bumi” to replace the traditional runway, aiming to highlight sustainability and deepen audience engagement.

JFC has been listed among the Top 10 Karisma Event Nusantara 2026 and receives full support from the Ministry of Tourism. Brand Ambassador and chief judge Bubah Alfian said, “We have become the largest creative ecosystem, combining carnival, UMKM, tourism, music and film.” Partnerships include Bank Rakyat Indonesia and several private sponsors. The broader program also features public screenings of the World Cup final, religious and cultural festivals, and a concluding concert on Indonesia’s Independence Day, all intended to boost local tourism and the creative economy.
