Jember Fashion Carnaval 2026 draws thousands, boosts tourism and local UMKM

The Jember Fashion Carnaval (JFC) 2026 was held from 24 – 26 July 2026 at Alun‑Alun Central Park in Jember, East Java. Organized under the theme “HEAL: Humanity, Earth, Life”, the three‑day festival featured a 3.6 km parade route ending at GOR PKPSO Kaliwates and included a Grand Carnival opening with the theatrical “Dewi Bumi” performance.

Thousands of domestic and overseas visitors attended, creating a multiplier effect for local businesses. Government officials—including Minister of Tourism Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, Deputy Governor Emil Dardak, and Presidential Special Envoy for Tourism Zita Anjani—praised the event as an internationally‑standard cultural tourism product. Zita Anjani called Jember “the kiblat of carnivals in Indonesia,” noting its influence on other regions.

The carnival’s impact on the local economy was highlighted: in the previous year the festival drew 557,509 domestic and 284 international tourists, involved over 100 UMKM participants, and generated roughly Rp 60.2 billion in economic turnover. Plans to strengthen transport links, such as intensifying Jember‑Bali flights for future editions, were also discussed, underscoring the event’s role in regional development.
