Jennie announces new solo EP ‘Fallen Angel’ amid plagiarism claims

Jennie, a member of the K-pop group BLACKPINK, has announced the release of her new solo EP, ‘Fallen Angel’, scheduled for August 28. The EP will feature six tracks, including the previously released songs ‘Less Than a Lover’ and ‘HEAVEN’. Her label, Odd Atelier, described the project as ‘a gift with love from Jennie’ and confirmed that a music video for the title track will be released alongside the EP.

However, the announcement has faced scrutiny following the release of a teaser poster. Some social media users and critics have accused Jennie of plagiarism, alleging that the visual concept, composition, and color palette bear similarities to Ariana Grande’s ‘Supernatural’ and the band Cherie Amour’s ‘Spiritual Ascension’. These accusations have sparked debate among netizens regarding the originality of the album's visual direction.
