Jeremy Greenwood defends fake staffer emails at ICAC inquiry

During an Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) inquiry known as Operation Rosny, lobbyist Jeremy Greenwood claimed that invoices sent under a fake staffer name, ‘Jessica’, were intended as ‘silly humour’ rather than a scheme to conceal illegal donations.

The ICAC is investigating allegations that Greenwood agreed to share in a $2 million bribe from fugitive developer Jean Nassif. Additionally, investigators are examining whether Greenwood’s company, Beckington, was used to wash funds from Catholic Schools NSW to support the Reformers, a conservative political sub-faction, to stack branches in Sydney. The commission noted that Catholic Schools NSW paid Beckington $130,900 over two years, but found no evidence that services were actually performed during that period.

Greenwood also addressed payments made to Jean-Claude Perrottet, the brother of former premier Dominic Perrottet, stating he had provided some money but could not recall the purpose, amount, or timing of the transaction.
