Jeremy Greenwood testifies in ICAC Operation Rosny bribery inquiry
During the seventh week of the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) inquiry codenamed Operation Rosny, lobbyist Jeremy Greenwood provided further evidence regarding his business dealings with developer Jean Nassif.
Greenwood, a conservative Liberal, was questioned about text messages exchanged with his business partner, Christian Ellis, involving discussions of luxury cars such as Ferraris and Porsches. While counsel assisting the commission suggested these discussions were linked to anticipated large payments from Nassif, Greenwood testified that the conversations had been ongoing for 12 months and were unrelated to any incoming funds.
The inquiry is also investigating whether illegal donations from Catholic Schools NSW were processed through Greenwood’s lobbying firm, Beckington. Evidence presented to the commission indicated that Nassif became a client of Beckington in mid-2019 during a period of negative media coverage for his company, Toplace.
