Jeremy Greenwood testifies to ICAC regarding Reformers group
Lobbyist and former political staffer Jeremy Greenwood testified before the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) regarding a probe into illegal political donations and connections between fugitive developer Jean Nassif and Liberal Party operatives.
Greenwood stated that while he supported conservative social issues, he was never a member of the right-wing Catholic group known as the Reformers. He described the group as eventually becoming "so toxic" that it caused him professional grief, leading him to urge his friends to end their involvement.
During his testimony, Greenwood clarified his professional relationship with Nationals senator Matt Canavan, noting that while Canavan spoke at a Reformers event, Greenwood remained largely detached from the group's recruitment and factional activities. The inquiry also addressed Greenwood's friendships with figures including Christian Ellis and the Perrottet brothers, specifically noting that while Charles and Jean-Claude Perrottet are persons of interest in the investigation, former premier Dominic Perrottet is not accused of any wrongdoing.
