Jersey Shore beach forecast for August 1
The National Weather Service issued a beach forecast for the Jersey Shore on Saturday, Aug. 1. Rip‑current risk is low and waves are expected to be 1–2 feet. Winds will come from the southwest at 4–10 mph (gusts to 16 mph) with a UV index of 9 (very high). Tide times for locations such as Sandy Hook, Long Branch, Manasquan Inlet, Seaside Heights, Barnegat Inlet and others are listed, with high tides occurring between 9:45 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. and low tides in the early afternoon.
The marine forecast calls for southwest winds around 5 kt, increasing to 10–15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt later in the day. Seas will range from 2 ft in the morning to 4 ft by night. Showers and a chance of thunderstorms are possible through the weekend and into Monday.
