Jersey Shore beach forecast warns of moderate rip currents on June 10

The National Weather Service issued a moderate‑risk rip‑current advisory for the Jersey Shore on June 10, noting that life‑threatening currents are possible in the surf zone. A Small Craft Advisory was also in effect after 2 p.m., cautioning inexperienced mariners to avoid the hazardous conditions.

Winds were forecast from the south at 8‑13 mph with gusts to 17 mph, generating 1‑2 ft waves. Ocean temperatures were expected to be 63‑72°F and air temperatures 71‑84°F. The UV index reached 8 (very high). Tide times for several locations, including Sandy Hook, Long Branch, and Barnegat Bay, were listed with low tides occurring early in the morning and high tides in the afternoon.
