Jesús Abraham García Perales linked to criminal process in Mexico
A federal judge has linked Jesús Abraham García Perales, known as ‘El Talibán’, to a criminal process for the possession of firearms, cartridges, and magazines for exclusive use by the armed forces. García Perales is a suspected member of the ‘Los Chapitos’ faction of the Sinaloa Cartel.
The arrest occurred in the López Mateos neighborhood of Mazatlán, Sinaloa, after federal agents observed the suspect exiting a vehicle while armed. Authorities seized a rifle, 180 cartridges, six magazines, and a vehicle during the operation.
The judge has ratified mandatory pretrial detention, and García Perales remains imprisoned at the Federal Center for Social Reintegration No. 8 in Guasave, Sinaloa. The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) has been granted a four-month period for complementary investigation.
