Jesse Adams: Animal rescuer killed in Ukraine drone strike
Jesse Adams, co-founder of the RainCoast Dog Rescue Society, died on October 26 following a drone strike in Ukraine. At the time of his death, Adams was working with the Animal Rescue Kharkiv team to evacuate animals from the war zone.
In response to his death, a petition has been launched on Change.org calling on the Canadian federal government to recognize Adams with a national honour for his courage and sacrifice. The petition, which garnered over 7,000 signatures within two days, highlights his decade-long commitment to animal rescue and his efforts to protect vulnerable animals in conflict areas.
A tribute Facebook page, “The Amazing Stories of Jesse Adams,” has also emerged, serving as a space for individuals to share stories and photos of animals rescued through his work.
