Jesse & Joy face transition as Jesse Huerta announces hiatus

The Mexican musical duo Jesse & Joy is facing a period of transition following Jesse Huerta’s announcement that he is taking a hiatus from the project to focus on his family and mental health. While Jesse plans to launch a new solo project, Jesse and The Supernovas, he has committed to fulfilling all existing duo obligations through December 5.

Joy Huerta has expressed her support for her brother’s decision despite the uncertainty, noting that she only learned of the situation shortly before it became public. During recent performances in Chile, Joy described the recent days as “very strange and difficult,” while Jesse faced some boos from the audience during his attempt to explain his departure.

Family members have also weighed in to provide clarity. Mónica León, Jesse’s wife, clarified that her recent social media posts were intended to correct misinformation regarding Jesse’s absence from a press conference rather than to target Joy. Additionally, Diana Atri, Joy’s partner, publicly expressed her unconditional support for the singer during this professional shift.

Despite the changes, the duo’s scheduled tour continues, including upcoming dates in Mexico and South America, though promotional materials for later December dates now feature Joy accompanied by a reindeer instead of both siblings.
