JetBlue to launch BlueFirst premium cabin on select routes
JetBlue has announced the rollout of BlueFirst, a new domestic first-class cabin designed to provide a premium experience on short- and medium-haul routes. The service is scheduled to make its commercial debut on December 8, 2026, with an inaugural flight connecting Boston and Fort Lauderdale.
The new cabin will be progressively installed on aircraft that do not currently feature the airline’s Mint business-class service. BlueFirst features reclining seats with up to seven inches of additional legroom, 13.3-inch screens, Bluetooth connectivity, free Wi-Fi, and various power options. For flights of 899 miles or more, the service includes a meal box.
Expansion plans include select flights between Fort Lauderdale and New York’s LaGuardia Airport, as well as destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean. Specifically, the service is slated to arrive on select flights between Fort Lauderdale and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, starting February 11, 2027. This expansion aims to increase competition for premium travelers in the Caribbean market.
