Jewelry thefts reported in El Alto and Suba
Separate robbery incidents were reported in El Alto, Bolivia, and Suba, Colombia.
In El Alto, three hooded individuals broke into a jewelry store in the El Kenko neighborhood during the early hours of Friday. The thieves forced open the metal shutters and stole jewelry valued at approximately Bs 150,000. To avoid detection, the suspects used paint to cover the store's security cameras. Police are currently reviewing footage from nearby residences to track the suspects' movements.
In the Suba district of Bogotá, a man and a woman posing as psychics targeted an 82-year-old woman in the Lagos de Córdoba neighborhood. The suspects convinced the victim to hand over a gold bracelet valued at 10 million pesos. Following the theft, a police pursuit led to the interception of the male suspect. Although the thief attempted to discard the jewelry by throwing it onto a rooftop, authorities successfully recovered the item using a drone. The two suspects have been apprehended and placed at the disposal of the Prosecutor's Office.
