Jewish community marks yahrtzeit of Rav Meir Shapiro and Harav Shlomo Aron Kazarnovsky

The Jewish community marks the yahrtzeit of two significant rabbinic figures.

Agudath Israel of America is observing the 93rd yahrtzeit of Rav Meir Shapiro. A former member of the Polish Parliament and Rav in Lublin, Shapiro founded Yeshivas Chachmei Lublin. He is widely recognized as the father of Daf Yomi, having proposed the program for daily Talmud study at the first Knessia Gedola to unite Jews of all backgrounds.

Additionally, the community commemorates Harav Shlomo Aron Kazarnovsky. A prominent Chabad rabbi, Kazarnovsky played a central role in establishing Chabad institutions in the United States. His contributions include helping to secure a home for the Frierdiker Rebbe, expanding the 770 institution, and assisting in the establishment of educational organizations such as Achos Tmimim.
