Costa Rican international defender Jeyland Mitchell has joined the French Ligue 1 club Strasbourg from the Austrian side Sturm Graz. The transfer is valued at 8 million euros (approximately $9.3 million).

Mitchell, 21, has signed a contract with Strasbourg that runs until 2031. The move marks a significant financial milestone for Sturm Graz, which confirmed the deal is the most expensive sale of a defender in the club's history. Sturm Graz had previously acquired Mitchell's rights permanently in June 2026 for 1.8 million euros after an initial loan period from Feyenoord.

During his tenure in Austria, Mitchell appeared in 32 matches and scored two goals. He has also earned 25 caps for the Costa Rican national team.
