Jharkhand High Court stays cancellation of JSSC-CGL appointments

The Jharkhand High Court has stayed a state government order that cancelled appointments made through the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission's Combined Graduate Level (JSSC-CGL) recruitment examination. The interim relief applies to 99 appointed candidates who challenged the decision. The court has directed the Jharkhand government and the JSSC to submit responses by September 15.

The cancellation followed a Criminal Investigation Department (CID) probe into alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations. The government had previously announced a wider investigation into possible anomalies in exams conducted since 2014, noting that several examinations would be cancelled or scrutinized.

In a related development, the CID has arrested another individual, Rajan Kumar, in Bihar, bringing the total number of arrests in the JSSC-CGL irregularities case to 11. Officials allege that Kumar assisted candidates by providing examination-related information and facilitating sessions where aspirants memorized questions and answers at a hotel in West Bengal.
