Jharkhand High Court upholds stay on recruitment cancellations

The Jharkhand High Court has maintained a stay on the state government's decision to cancel various government recruitments. The ruling affects candidates selected through the 11th to 13th JPSC, JSSC-CGL, CDPO, and Food Safety Officer examinations.

Justice Deepak Roshan noted that while not all appointments can be considered entirely correct, cancelling thousands of appointments simultaneously would violate the principles of natural justice. The court emphasized that it cannot be assumed that every single appointment was fraudulent.

To oversee the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe, the court has appointed retired judge Gautam Kumar Chaudhary as the nodal officer. Candidates who feel they are being unnecessarily harassed during the investigation can submit complaints to him. This legal development follows a cabinet decision to cancel 22 competitive exams and order CID investigations into several others due to alleged irregularities.
