Jharkhand student leader launches recruitment reform yatra

Student leader Devendra Nath Mahto has launched the second phase of the ‘JPSC-JSSC Corruption-Free Recruitment Campaign’ in Jharkhand. The movement, titled ‘Recruitment System Reform Yatra,’ began in Nemra, Ramgarh district, and is intended to travel through all 24 districts of the state.

The campaign seeks to address long-standing grievances regarding corruption, paper leaks, and irregularities within the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC). Mahto emphasized that the movement aims for transparency, accountability, and concrete solutions rather than mere political dialogue.

Simultaneously, the Supreme Court of India is scheduled to hear a public interest litigation (PIL) requesting a CBI investigation into alleged irregularities in the JPSC Combined Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2025. The protests follow previous legal disputes where the state government's decision to cancel certain examinations was stayed by the High Court.
