Ji Chang-wook and Mio Imada star in new drama ‘Merry Berry Love’

The romantic comedy drama ‘Merry Berry Love’, a co-production between Nippon TV and CJ ENM, is set to premiere on October 7. The series stars Ji Chang-wook and Mio Imada in lead roles.

The story follows Lee Yu-bin (Ji Chang-wook), a perfectionist South Korean spatial planner who loses his career and wealth due to an incident. He travels to the beautiful Japanese island of Charoshima to claim his late father's inheritance. There, he meets Karin Shirahama (Mio Imada), a resilient Japanese woman dedicated to developing new strawberry varieties to honor her grandfather's legacy.

In a recent interview, Ji Chang-wook discussed the chemistry with Imada, noting that despite the language barrier, they shared a natural sense of humor and connection on set. He also mentioned his efforts to naturally portray a Korean character navigating Japanese language nuances. The drama will be broadcast on Nippon TV and streamed globally on Disney+.
