Jigawa Governor signs N63.478bn supplementary budget

Governor Umar Namadi has signed a N63.478 billion supplementary appropriation bill for Jigawa State and its 27 local government councils. This legislation increases the state’s 2026 budget from N901.841 billion to N948.210 billion.

Of the additional funds, N46.369 billion is allocated to the state government, while N17.109 billion is designated for the 27 local government councils. The bill was signed following approval by the Jigawa State House of Assembly, which reviewed the 2026 Budget Review and Supplementary Appropriation Bill after considering 186 recommendations regarding state spending plans.
